To mark the 90th anniversary of the formation of rugby league in Australia, Newtown moved back to the pre 1976 design of the blue jersey without the three stripes and a move back the very earliest Newtown jerseys with the "N" on it's own without shield, along with the 90th anniversary foundation club embroidery. Love the bold statement on the back where the main sponsor usually is: "FIRST CLUB IN RUGBY LEAGUE". Another unusual aspect was the sleeve sponsor being Newtown R & S. L. Community Club who were only on the jersey for a year. This is a supporters version as the players version had the dark coloured Metro Cup badge and I've seen a long sleeved version of this supporters type being worn at Henson Park which was identical in terms of badges and sponsors. Picked this up from an internet auction site that was being sold by a pawn broker in Queensland.
