This is what I believe was called a 'fashion jersey' that was sold by the club at the time. Obviously never worn during a game this was more to be worn at the game or to the pub. It's a really weird cut, very wide and so it feels a bit short around the waist so as a result I've never actually worn this jersey. I think there was an alternative of this design too that the colours were reversed so the jersey was primarily white with two large blue stripes. Also was the only time that the 'Jets' badge was used like this with the 'First Club In Rugby League' wording underneath. The jersey at the bottom was given to a sponsor at the end of season as a thank you for their support of the club in a frame. The Clarence Hotel, on corner of Crystal street and Parramatta road Petersham were the sleeve sponsors that year. The story goes that after one the many changes of hands of the pub this framed jersey was given back to the club, however the frame was dropped at some point and the jersey was salvaged, it explains the remains of glue under the collar and along the back. The main sponsor for that year were Labelcraft.
